Patty Purpur de Vries, MS
Associate Director, Faculty & Staff Well-Being: Innovation & Strategy
Patty Purpur de Vries, MS, is the associate director of faculty and staff wellness at Stanford University and director of the Stanford LeadWell Network. She earned a full-athletic scholarship to attend Stanford University in 1985, was a 9-time NCAA All-American and competed at the Olympic Trials. She began her career as a personal fitness trainer, and by 2008, she had grown her fitness & wellness company to over 100 employees with annual revenues of over $5 million, eventually selling all contracts and trademark rights to Plus One Holdings of New York (now Optum). In 2013, Patty began as the wellness manager of the HealthySteps wellness program for the 14,000+ non-physician employees of Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health, and before her current position was the director of strategic projects for the Stanford WellMD Center. Patty earned an MS in health promotion management from Stanford University.
