Zhipeng Lu, PhD, LEED AP BD+C, is an assistant professor at the Department of Architecture and the associate director of the Center for Health Systems & Design, Texas A&M University. Zhipeng’s research concerns how the physical environment influences people’s health and behaviors. His research projects, funded by agencies such as NIH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and American Institutes of Architect, investigate design for older people, healthcare environment, healthy community and healthy city and design to promote active living. Zhipeng teaches graduate and undergraduate courses that emphasize design for health. He is a member and the US official representative of the International Union of Architects-Public Health Group and an associate member of the American Institute of Architects.
