Lisa Schwartzenburg joined Gonzaga University in January 2014. As the assistant director of benefits & wellness, her focus is to develop a “mission” based benefit package that supports Gonzaga’s mission of cura personalis, or care for the whole person. In her current position, Lisa is responsible for employee benefits, retirement, workers compensation, tuition waiver programs, student insurance, campus wellness, employee disability and leave programs. Prior to joining Gonzaga, Lisa worked with multiple clients as an associate with Mercer for eight years. During this time, she gained extensive knowledge of small and large group employee benefits. Lisa is the current chair for the Washington Wholesale, Retail & Professional Services Retail Retro Group. Lisa is an active member on the Premera Blue Cross Employer Advisory Board. Recently Lisa joined the TIAA Advisory Council where her voice, along with other members, helps the TIAA leadership team on strategic business objectives. Lisa graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in education. Lisa recently graduated from the Emerging Leader program though Gonzaga’s Organizational Development Department.
